Default Bargain ED Ghia

Gidday All

Just thought I would share with you the bargain I scored off Ebay recently.

The car is an 1994 4.0l ED Fairmont Ghia in Polynesian Green. It has the Leather and Cloth Seats, Factory fitted Sprint Kit and 3.27 LSD.

I was lucky and picked it up for a song at $376.89. Here are some picks I took where it was sitting for six months.

Exterior

Unfortunately someone has scrathed the paint on just about every panel. Not a write off though.

Interior

The interior is pretty clean. In fact the seats have already been transferred to my EB They cleaned up really nicely.

There are four mags although the fourth one is buggered. I have a set of turbo blades that will go on it.

The LSD will move accross to the EB as well.

The plan for the Ghia at this point is for my wife to have it.

The Ghia was only running of five cylinders, which I was able to fix with one sparkplug. Now the alternator isn't charging, but I have a spare here to put in.

Overall I am really quite stoked with the bargain.

Well done on the bargain, it always seems that cheap E series are around...... for instance I picked up a EA Ghia for $150.

Hell, you could wreck the car and get a profit!

Just plan to get it on the road.

I have fixed a couple of things. The passenger mirror was broken, the drivers door central locking motor was stuffed and I found the code for the stereo in the owners handbook (which was still in its plastic folder with the original can of touchup paint). The smartlock remote (wrapped in leather?) is dead but I was able to reprogram a spare one.

I actually have a parts car here - an EB Fairmont. Much of it is already in my EB.

The exhaust has a big hole and it needs some tyres.

When I took the leather seats out I put normal Fairmont seats in, so it still looks the part.

I will update as I go.

I scored it from Ebay.

The car was located at Granville, so not far from work, Parramatta, or home, Seven Hills.

Well speaking of Ebay, last weekend I picked up a used standard Cat Back exhaust from a EF for $50. Has a nice oval chrome tip in it too.

The exhaust on the car fell to pieces as I took it off . It was a real mess.

Bolted up the replacement and all is sweet. Looks good too.

I also bolted on the Turbo Blades, but havn't given it a wash, bloody water restrictions.

It is almost ready for a blue slip.

Unfortunately, it is also in 10 times worse condition body wise.

Gohan, it is a taxi, and I presume that is the normal NSW plate there. The Taxi plate seems to be missing.

The Ghia got caught in the bad hailstorms and few weeks ago and suffered quite badly. The windscreen has a big crack in it and there is at least 50 dents in the bonnet, roof and bootlid.

While my wife still wants to keep it and put it back on the road, I am not sure what it's fate will be at this stage.

Unfortunately a few of the local boys have dibs those parts.

It drive soooo nice, that I really don't want to wreck it. It is too good for that. Even with the dents and paint scratches it will drive the same.
