The companies can either choose to absorb the increase (yeah right) or to pass on the increase to the consumer (sounds more like them). However one cigarette company is choosing to absorb one of the price rises this year, so there will be no price rises on smokes in vending machines accross the country. How nice of them They realised they were pricing themselves out of the business..... |

On a lighter note.......
The General Managers of Cascade Brewery (Tasmania), Tooheys (New South Wales), XXXX (Queensland ), CUB (Victoria) and Coopers (South Australia) were at a national beer conference. They decide to all go to lunch together and the waitress asks what they want to drink. The General Manager of Tooheys says without hesitation, "I'll have a Tooheys New." The General Manager of XXXX smiles and says, "I'll have a XXXX Gold." The General Manager of Coopers proudly says, "I'll have a Coopers, the King of Beers." The bloke from Cascade says, "I'll have a Cascade, the cleanest draught on the planet." The General Manager from CUB glances at his lunch mates and says, "I'll have a Diet Coke." The others look at him like he has sprouted a new head. He just shrugs and says, "Well if you poofters aren't drinking beer, then neither will I."

I've heard of a Butcher but the last time I heard it used must have been 25 years ago.
No on uses it these days even down here in the back water. |

often it was also used by the ladies to order a shandy ( beer and lemonade ) and or used for the smaller kids to drink rasberry drink from etc ) also often workers sneaking in for a beer during lunch would also order butchers rather than the larger sizes. the butcher was very common and well used. |

In most parts of QLD all you need to know about is the pot and the pint. But we seem to have had an invasion and now a lot of places only sell pots or schooners.
Don't get me wrong a schooner is a good size but sell more pints you bastards!
