Default 'The' GT is back!

For those of you who may have missed it as it did the rounds of the country.. Fords' GT is back on display at the Ford Discovery Centre from this afternoon (Thursday16th June, 2005) until September. This will be your last chance to see this awesome piece of machinery. Well worth a visit.

The Ford Discovery Centre is located on the corner of Gheringhap & Brougham Streets, Geelong, Victoria. Open daily, excluding Tuesdays, 10am-5pm.

Sorry, I don't know how to add photos, so here's a link:

Ya Wally Wayne :

He he, learn how to click on links matey. :hihi:

It's heading off in September. This must be the GT with the highest mileage on it... without actually showing mileage on it. It's travelled a loooong way.

For those of you (like Wayne) who don't know how to click on links, it's 'THE' GT (new GT 40)

To answer your questions:

Test drives? Unfortunately, no.. Though if you get the opportunity to hear this thing started up, i's worth hanging around for. It purrs like a puma.

Will these be a factory item for sale in Australia? Again, unfortunately, no. The limited run they are producing are selling very well in the States. If you would like one, pop your name down with a US dealer, or contact Ford US. The $170 odd thousand dollar USD price tag... plus shipping etc etc may be a little hard on the wallet though. This one is just here for a promotional stint.

Any chance of getting it to Wagga in October? Again, sadly probably no. It will be gone by then. I'd LOVE to drive it up there for you though it:

Who do we have to bribe? Me of course lol! Nah, just joking. :hihi:

I checked it out closely again before I left tonight. I think red is definately my colour :hihi:

Ha ha, sorry. I just walked past and had another 'run the hand ligtly along the lines' session. It's sooo nice!

As for pics, I haven't got any of it in the Centre and don't have my camera with me today.

You can find specs and info on the car at www.ford.com Follow the link to Ford, then to the car specs etc from the home page. There is also a shot of the car as a screensaver/wallpaper download on the FPV site, parked next to an Aussie GT (BA).

I love that car, I still watch the video of Top Gear test driving it every now and then.
The guy on that show couldn't stop gushing about how great it was.

Zetec, I would be smiling if was sitting in the drivers seat of that beauty.

No exact date yet. Probably best if you get in touch with me close to when you are visiting to see if it is still there or not.
