Default Quick short throw shifter question

Gday,

Does anyone know if the gearbox has to come out to put a short throw shifter in an AU? Just wasnt sure how difficult it was or if it was something i could just pull the console out and get to it.

Thanks guys

pull the surrouund off from around the gearstick, undo the 2 bolts that hold the gear stick on, then you have to undo the 4 bolts that hold the shifter to the box, you might have to undo the rear gearbox mount to get all of them

With an AU you cant quite get all shifter bolts from inside.

Easiest way is to jack the back of the car up, loosening the gearbox cross member bolts (with a jack supporting the gearbox)and lowering the back of the gearbox enough to get to all bolts.

You also need to take the gear stick off aswell from inside (like JOSH said) then bolt it all together and away you go.

Should be able to do it in an hour easy, or much quicker on a hoist!!
