For whoever caught mythbusters last night and wants to see it again... here is the Trebuchet (catapult... or CARtapult in this case).

Although mine has nothing on that big boy its still fun, it hurls a malteser about 5-6 metres, I will test it further tomorrow. Its made from balsa wood and stands about 12" high at the pivot. |

That's so awesome, I want one!
I remember a documentry on SBS last year where they built a trebuchet by hand with the old-school tools, these things are amazingly powerful :evil3:

Its still got a couple of pins holding it while the glue dries (dunno if you can see them in the pic), but here it is all loaded up ready to go, just gotta pull the pin.... |
