Stop applying Mr Sheen. LOL
The shine is a build up of sweat and other bodily secretions. You need to clean the wheel with a good leather cleaner.

Personally I reckon it looks better shiny. I had one on my EL XR8 and I bought a new one and the new one looked dull and boring compared to the original one that was in the car.

would you apply a leather conditioner aswell.

I use the Meguiar's Gold Class Cleaner/Conditioner in one on mine with no problems. It's not too shiny.
