had a large number of missed calls from this number 0289875300
have answered it a couple of times and am on hold with this american womans voice "please hold for an important message" then it drops out? at first I thought was inlaw family calling from another number (I'm in Adelaide) they live in Sydney, so called back and got that stupid on hold crap. bit worried its one of those scams that charge you heaps just for calling. anybody had similar calls?

have heard about the telstra or people that sell telstra products doing this but people have said they get someone on the other end and usually from an (08) number that probably comes out of perth.
BTW I get these calls to my mobile I have been hanging to talk to a person from these calls so I can ask how they got my details and how much details they have then abuse the F out of them. If they have my name etc they would have got it from the IPND which they can not do. If they are scammers then I am going to get my money back!!

gtfpv. omg I was just about crying with laughter from that indian one
Thanks for that info rag top in regards to tellemarketers my mum speaks to them in german they lose the plot real quick. A freind of ours said his wife looked after these things and said he would go get her put the phone down and yelled for her (she was not home) then said to the caller I will just go get her. A few minutes later came back said to caller she is coming will be real quick. He strung this along for about ten minutes, the caller had hung up. he got a call shortly after with a cranky caller saying it was not nice what he had done, quess what the reply was? needless to say they got no more tellemarketers.

This happens to my kids mobiles and when they return the call all their credit gets used up.
