since having my car for the last 2-ish months i have noticed a problem with my front drivers window.
when the window is down (not all the way) when i pull the switch up to lift the window up, the window will go up slightly and then actually go all the way down automatically. at first i thought i had hit the button wrong or something....but it does it a fair bit, but not all the time. has anyone else had this problem? anthony |

I noticed I get this when :
(1) my window is just slightly ajar, like and inch or 2. (2) I flick the window switch quickly. Did you do #2 above ? Next time, try pulling it up normally instead of flicking the switch. if it is halfway down, I don't get the problem, even if I flick the switch. By the way, I can replicate it on the passenger window too... Mine has anti-trap feature on all windows. I didn't try on rear windows though. |

I notice if the windows are going up and I hit a massive bump, the window's anti trap will go off.

Ahhhhh
The contacts inside the window switch aren't properly touching. Any change water/dirt could have gotten in there? This happens because there is 4 function to the window switch(up, auto up, down, auto down) , but only 2 signal wires (up or down). For each function there is a different signal pattern Up - Signal wire 1 Down - SW2 Auto Up - SW1, then both SW1 and SW2 at the same time Auto Down - SW2, then SW2 and SW1 at the same time It looks like the contact on the window switch is having problems with creating the circuit for SW1, so when you press Auto up, it only sees SW2.. I hope that makes sense.

I sometimes get this issue with the front passenger window, I'll clean it out tomorrow and try again.

For the driver's control of all the power windows, just the lower section of the door's grab bar needs to be pryed off. Then there are 2 or 4 torq (star) screws to remove and the power window switches/mirror adjust panel should fall out.
If its for the passenger/rear door's single switch next to the door latch handle, you should be able to pull the door handle recess trim out from the top, then unclip the window switch in there. If your car is under warranty I'd just get Ford to replace.
