Hi guys,
Put some cash down on one of these today (sedan) after searching for a few weeks after previous small car was written off thanks to a truck. Anyway, inspected the car today and it's a little beauty. Immaculate inside and out, a real gem....only problem cosmetically that I can find (mechanically will be inspected by RACQ) is the manual gear shift. It seems that the top of it, where the gears 1-5 + R are indicated, has worn away so it is just a silver disc ontop of a stick. I know that you do't really need the gears there as we all know where they are but it's just a little something to eventually get the better of me. So I guess questions are: 1. How easy / difficult is to have this fixed?; 2. Can I do it myself; and 3. Where can I find what I am looking for? Hope someone here can help....its my first post in this Forum as last 12 months been over in the Territory section. Thanks guys! Shane

Well done on the new car! BTW - that silver disc on top of the gear shift gets hot in summer!!!
the shift patten indicator on my laser has worn away too.... personally I wouldn't worry about it - unless you want to use black texta, buying a new gear knob is the way to go.... |
