BAII RTV - with Raptor V S/C. RTV Power FG G6ET 50th Anniversary in Sensation. While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about. “Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”. |

You can actually buy those pretty easily (maybe from toyota if you know the right people). They outfit the Cruiser ambulances in vic and tas snowfields with them iirc. They are a bit expensive but they get bought/done at the same time as the 3rd door is put on the troopies.
Would be awesome fun to see how they go....dont know why you would need them in qld?

wonder what top speed you can reach with them. you'd think anything over 50km/hr would tear them to pieces

there was one of those at the Sydney motor show WAYYYYYY back.
i was just a wee lad so this would be going back close to 10 years maybe? might have been an earlier model cruiser too

Come to think about it, caterpillar tracks on your Landcruiser would totally be unnecessary on Stradbroke Island. From the ferry terminal to the beach are two long bitumen roads, (East Coast Rd & Mining Company Rd) where the speed limit is 80-100km/h. Something like that would only be useful on the beaches if it were high tide, having to drive on the softer sand.
