Default Fathers Day

Hey guys I want your opinions.
We just heard an ad on tv about fathers day.
The missus asked me what I wanted from the kids.
Fair question I feel, I may as well get what I want
instead of the usual toilet bags and a like that we
dad's usually get given. I'm not knocking the toilet
bags and alike for fathers day it's how I get most of
my Ford stuff.
My reply was simple..... a blower for the car.
Now the response I got was that no the kids
can't get you a blower.
So I ask you guys is a blower a acceptable
present for the kids to get for fathers day?
(And hey it's for the family car so I'm even
willing to share it with them).

Mate, I don't know about a blower.

But something else that has blow in it would make an acceptable gift from your wife. Possibly not from your kids, that could wind you up in a lot of trouble.

On a serious note. Make a push for the blower!

I took my Dad to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner last year.

He enjoyed it, but I found out I have a severe allergic reaction to the mustard powder in their foods and almost ended up in hospital.

This year I'm thinking of taking him to an italian restaurant and then to see Cirque du Soleil.

I'll ask him if he wants to see it before I buy the tickets though.

Last year I got a blown up frame photo of my wedding car.

My mrs must have something already organised this year, last night my 3yo daughter said 'daddy, we've got something special to give you' & my wife shooshed her hehe.

Doubt its a blower tho!

I wish my Dad was alive to actually enjoy Father's day again.

It's not a day I celebrate anymore.

How much were you looking at paying per hour? :P

But seriously, its funny how with Mother's Day, there are almost no boundaries in what "Mummy" deserves, but when it comes to the old man, Boys Toys are off limits, and it off to the usual Undies and Socks.

Mind you, I don't participate in those commercial events much. I get no presents from parents, and I give none. That is now what defines a family.
I spend time with my parents, help them and talk to them a lot. That is the greatest present of all.

Well, Dad said no to Cirque, but instead insisted that I feed him.

So I'm looking for a nice Chinese or Italian restaurant now.

Definitely something you never give up. But on the brighter side ... might have children of my own fairly soon.

At least your dad has a reason for not seeing / talking to you. I don't know what's better.

That's pretty harsh man and inconsiderate as well. Dealing with the loss of a parent especially if you were young at the time is not easy.

At least you are still able to see him in person if he decided to change his mind and speak/see you ... some of us don't have that luxury.

Luxury? 10 years of being beaten for no reason then to have them never contact you is a luxury? Id hate to see what a hard time was like.
