Default Speed Camera Question

How fast does a car have to go before the picture is too blurred to see the car. Im just curious as me and a mate were having an argument over it.

Oh and I'm not doing this to find out what speed I have to go so I won't get booked either, but it would be good to speed through a camera and get away with it (in a way)

It all depends on the speed of the camera shutter. Somehow I doubt you'll be driving quicker than 1/250 of a second (or whatever it's set to).

Probably only applies to F/A-18 pilots. Probably cheaper to cop the fine than turn the afterburners on anyway.

I remember a few years ago they did this test on Top Gear. Anyway, they set up a speed camera on their runway and had 3 cars do drive-by's. I forgot what they wre but one was a crapper, one was a mid spec sports car and one was a high spec sports car.

The first 2 tripped the camera and got photographed but the third didn't trip the camera at all. I can't recall the speed but it was pretty damn fast.

I use 'ludicrous speed' to beat the speed camera. Only problem is you can't stop, you have to slow down first.

Bah, speed is irrelevant, according to my gregorys manual my XP has deflectors. As soon as I find the Cloak and the Phasers you better believe there will be a reckoning...

Painting your vehicle entirely in a blur finish can result in authorities doubting the validity of their camera equipment and thus not issueing ingringements. Many vehicles from Campbelltown and Sydney's south western suburbs, have parts of the car or even entire panels treated this way to evade detection.
Only a whole car treatment with pressure pak undercoat will render the vehicle as true speed camera stealthy.

Last I heard.. current gen speed cameras are good to 299.9mph (479.84km/h). Unless you own the Thrust SCC, a Top Fuel Dragster or a Fighter Jet.. you're going to get caught.

Well, if you can contract the Klingons to install a cloaking device, then you don't need to worry, as long as you don't come out of cloak mode to attack the speed camera.

I'm sure the Daewoo Cielo would be safe - they'd look at the picture and say "A Cielo speeding, impossible!"

Older cameras could only read until 199.9mph (319.84km/h).. but most new stuff is closer to 500km/h...

Older cameras, Steffo?
Australia went metric in 1975, there were no speed cameras back then.
Don't you remember........

I have known of a vehicle that was in a hurry one day, and it went out around a few trucks on an open outbeck road, and just held the throttle open a bit, about 6200 in 4th, then up to about 4500 in top, and "flash" the camera went off......

Nothing ever did come to him in the mail.....very silly, lucky bugger....
