Default Look at what I just picked up!

Hi All,

I just picked up this late 2001 AU2 XR8 (Stat write off due to being stolen and stripped, not an accident);

I've already started to strip the car so it's a little more incomplete then when I picked it up.

It starts and drives nicely, engine is in great condition with only 70,000k's. I want to swap engines with my 175kw Fairmont Ghia and a few other bits but the rest is for sale, you can find he FS thread here;

FS Thread

Apart from the engine, what else can I swap?

Nice pickup mate. Being a late '01 model, it will have the 220kw engine too.

As for what can be swapped, probably nothing else of worth, seeing as yours is a Fairy Ghia. Is it a manual?

You'd need the ECU as well, which will mean getting ford to program the BEM & ECU so they work together. Suspension would also be good, front bar, bonnet, lights etc would be too. Is it Qld rego? Looks like Shaun and Chrissy's old car.

Yes, it's the Supercar front bar. The previous owner was going to put the car on the track and fitted this bar. It has been cut horizontally and a small amount taken out to increase the ground clearance. It needs glassing back together (Not too difficult). Don't know what it's wort, all I know is that a new one is around $800.

Nah, I enjoy my auto......I do heaps of city driving and although a manual would be fun, it would quickly become a chore.

Why would I need the ECU? I have a CAPA box that I will be getting tuned once the engine is in.

ALthough I love the look of the XR8, I will be keeping my mont stock looking (Sleeper).

I'd switch over to the 220 ECU as that will give you a better base tune. But I suppose the CAPA box will get to the same end result.

I'm selling the ecu with the gearbox as a total conversion kit. Yeah I know the 220 ecu will have a better base tune but as you say the CAPA box will make this unnecessary.

Nice pickup. How much did it set you back? What are you going to do with the original engine?

Manual conversion is now available again.

Box, ECU, Clutch, Pedal assembly, Crossmember, Tailshaft??. (I think that's all you need for a full conversion).

70,000k's, clutch an box feel great.

$1,750

No problem Josh. It's there if someone wants it. I'd rather a member of the forum get it then just anybody on ebay.
