Default My Fiesta at Winton 28/09/2008

With anticipation I felt that if I acheived a lap time of 2mins I'd be one happy camper...

Not sure what to expect in the first session I stopped the clock at 2mins 01.8600 ... ok, so I have to find 2 seconds...

In the second session I decided to chase down a Honda Integra ... with success I also posted a lap time of 1min 58.1100

The 3rd session with my goal acheived time to have some fun... lets see If i could chase the Mini Cooper S ... ok, so the I soon figured that the Mini was abit quicker along the straights... however I easily posted a 1min 59.

the 4th and 5th session my goal was the white RX7 ... with that acheived Session 5 was cut short due to an incident which I avoided with great skill... my best time out of these to sessions was 1min 59...

theses results we done with the Traction control ON ... i got within an hour from home I found that magic button to turn TC OFF... hmmm, maybe next time TC can be turned off. Tyres are 195/60 Goodyear Eagle road tyres...

below are some pics and a link to the folder of more pictures from the day

Enjoy

As a comparison, a Focus ST170 Production Car (formerly Best Racing's) did a 1.43 back in 2007 so that's not a bad time.

BTW the background sign in Picture 2 is a worry!

So the ST170 would have been modded a bit? If so then yeah, the XR4's time is good.

Can't see the pics i'm afraid. Since im at work the pcis are blocked :(

Still sounds like you had a blast. Wish I was there.

How much fuel did you have in the car? yes the tc and better tires would make a difference. maybe 1.56's

How often does Winton open up the track for days like this?

P.S. Congrats on making Performance fords (even if it was just a bg shot)

I had a full tank of fuel starting the first session, after all 5 sessions i finished with just over half a tank... got back to Albury with it nudging on half a tank left... 15 litres per 100kms but i had fun doing it.

1min 55.0000 is my next goal... better tyres and TC will be turned off :

The brakes held up really well... no brake fade while driving around the track, With ease i was able to pull up in the next few townships on the way home. I still have plenty of meat on the on the pad, but if you are going out to smash the lap record, i would recommend upgrading your brakes.
