OMG OMG OMG!!!! (said really fast) my feet, lol :
well today i dropped my dad off at work, coz weve onli got one car, and he didnt leave my enuff fuel to get back argh!! so i ran out of, not far from my house, but i was in a really stupid part of the road, where i had 2 move it or it might of caused an accident. so i had to push the old corolla with pretty much one hand because i fractured my other (its kinda getting better). i managed to push it up this steap road, bare foot coz i didnt have any shoes, noone stopped to help me, and i didnt have my phone with me. I finally did it, and realised i had 2 killer blisters on my feet (1 on each). i cant walk, and ive just been in the paper (front page) :thebirds: because im doing youth work and setting a positive example for the community- ive got this skateboarding workshop/ clinic that im running, and its in 7 days (january 20th). i really need my feet to heal :'( does anyone have any ideas on how to heal my feet in this time? im a kinda slow healer. the blisters arnt bad, but stopping me from walking (the size of 10c) i would really appreciate any healing methods. chears dan. (next time i will remember to wear shoes everytime i drive, and carry my phone, and wallet, and have fuel in the car) hehehe |

painfully as it is, pop them and bathe them in metho to dry them out, leave them uncovered to breathe and they will heal in no time.. I used to play professional soccer and always got them on my feet and toes
Another tip is when you are skating and wearing shoes is to cover the blister in vaseline and throw some in your shoes around the blisters to stop chaffeing and rubbing irrating you Failing that you can get a product from the chemist called "Second Skin' .. gymnasts use it all the time.It forms a layer of 'skin' over the open wound. It might help for some short term action

nope, just pop it with enough to remove the fluid and get some metho under the 'flap' of skin... Have a hanky ready because it stings like buggery

Racecrafts hints sound pretty good,
I used to be in the Army and after long walks got blisters. To pop them, get a needle and thread, heat the needle in a flame and run that and the thread through the blister. Then soak your feet in metho or Condies crystals.

AFF Town Nurse jumps in.
You never burst a blister, always let it heal on it's own, otherwise you are running the risk of getting an infection. Especially if you are a slow healer. In 7 days the blister would have burst and healed on it's own, and if it hasn't healed in that time then you go to the chemist and get bandages to put over where the blister was. I think one of the things you can buy is called Cutinova, or there is Scholl's Super Soft Pressure point foam padding. Where's my old quote when I need it? Quote:

OK, you're probably gonna laugh at this, but one of the best things i found to do was pop the blister with a pin, soak it in metho, then use a heat gun (obviously not too close! :P) to dry the skin out and make it go harder.
It works a treat ;) |
