Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that sells GPS trackers. I did a quick google search and only came up with ones used for business that you subscribe to. This isnt really what i am after. I want a GPS that can be wired to a car battery and be able to check the position without paying a subscription fee. anyone got any ideas? Nick |

Which state? I just got one fitted in SA. Mine has the option of subscription-based or self-tracking, where the unit sends you an SMS. I chose this option. PM me for the details if you like. |

These guys are good, plenty of options and you can self track for bugger all cost as well.
They do work very well too. www.ucanc.com.au Cheers, Roy

There are sms trackers on ebay but what do you do if your car is stollen and taken to somewhere where there is no mobile service. I live in country vic and there are places with no service all over the place.

With the unit I've got, if the vehicle is taken under cover, it will remember the last GPS fixed it had, and send you that. Not sure what happens if mobile coverage drops out - I'm guessing it will notify you as soon as it has coverage again. If the vehicle is stolen, the unit notifies you pretty much immediately, so you should have time to recover it before they can take it too far. |
