My new rims didn't turn up this week. There is a hold up for the finishing somewhere.

I'll report back on Monday with an update.

Regards,
Greg.

Ok guys some minor bad news.

I was just washing up the original wheels for boxing.

The tyre fitters have scratched / scuffed one rim :( Its only minor, but never the less Im far from happy.

They have refused to fix it claiming I did it before the wheels were fitted (bull crap).
I have touched that wheel up with some ford touch up paint.

Its in box 4 of 4, I am offering a discount on this rim of $50. So if anyone doesn't mind as its a spare anyway, they can save a few bucks.

Im really sorry about it, but there's not much I can do at the moment.

I've got pics of the damage if anyone wants them before they agree...

Regards,
Greg

Update guys. Rims are at the transport depot, will be loaded on Monday.

I've been given an ETA at WA of Mon / Tues the following week.

I'll keep you all updated if I hear anything more.

hey Greg same problem with scratches this time though it's my fault used a mag wheel brush that had a small piece of steel sticking out gee the paint is applied thinly on the wheels can you tell me the color of the touch up paint as my dealer has NONE at all as I prefer a spray if possible oh by the way it looks horrible : mate I think those wheels look great on that color I don't think a lighter color will do the wheels justice e.g. Silver well done mate

Good to hear, Im glad everything went smoothly!

Apstar, as for the paint ford should have it. The colour is a number, not an actual name from memory.

I'll get back to you, I've seen it online from a UK shop, once I can remember which place it was I'll let you know. Its a ford parts website.

Thanks Colonel but unless I'm totally blind I cannot see touch up paint for the wheels as the color would be the same for all cars I was told by my dealer thats its not the same as stardust silver even so he cannot find anything on his parts list !

Hi Greg

Just picked up my rim from James (great to meet another XR5 owner).
It is in perfect condition - thanks for giving it a clean!

Cheers

No worries!

I hope it goes well fitting in the boot. Let me know, I've kept the scratched rim as a spare for myself.

Will be a little while off - need to find a tire to go on the rim. As it is a spare, happy to wait for a second hand one. Once I get that, will swap out my scratched rim for the new rim and then put it in the boot as a full sized spare.

No worries, Im working off the same method.

Waiting for the current treads to wear, then use one of the old ones as a spare.
