Thats what I was thinking. Either a 120Y or a Stanza.

since they treat your cars with such disrespect ,why not give them an $500 volvo and tell them if they keep it in a RWC state for two years you will reward them with a nice car later,
or do what "EgoXR "said

i love the 120y idea too, thats gold..... mainly cause it so true

still think ya kids should get jobs and save for their own stuff tho.... otherwise they wont ever respect anything you buy em

you could pick up a MINT condition 2002 AU3 Falcon for 6k, safe as a house, use less fuel than a CH lancer, much nicer than any barina, and easiest car in the world to maintain and parts are everywhere being our national taxi

are you one of those people that wants airbags all over the place?

remember, the old falcons sometimes rate better than some of the latest small cars in crash situations due to their size. you can't dismiss the basic laws of physics.

i don't have children myself, but one thing that i witness time and time again is people's lack of confidence when you put them behind the wheel of a large vehicle.

forget the sporty look. give them a barge. you'll teach them to parallel park for the rest of their lives.

How about everyone stops giving the guy parenting advice, and just answers his damn question!!!

As someone mentioned above, 6k is the top line of AU3 sales, so you should get something pretty damn mint if you look in that direction.

Or you could go a TT soarer or JZA70 supra in that range, both of which are fairly quick.

Get them a 94 Barina Sportsgirl Edition or two; when they ask why you can tell them how it is important to respect cars. Better yet, give it to them for Christmas.
As for the person who said Camira, I think you calculated wrong; 6K buys just over 30 Camiras.

ill second that, I drive my 99 festi pretty hard and i keeps coming back for more, and with 200k on the clock and nothing totally stocko still manages to pull 51kw on a dyno run when factory figures only give it 56kw at the fly

I only picked mine up for $3k so buy em two and reclaim the XR4 :

+1 for the TX5. Brilliant car, mine just had a few issues.
Bought mine (93 V6 2.5 Auto) for $4200, sold it for $3k about 2 years later.

If I'd put an LPG tank in it, I'd have kept it. Cost of fuel (sold it when it was hovering around $1.40-1.50) was the only reason I dumped it.
