Not sure if it is like this with other dealers but When driving down the Nepean highway in brighton/Elsternwick there is a series of Dealers. Holden, Toyota, Lexus and Ford. All the showrooms are bright and new showing the latest and greatest that the motor company has to offer. Except Ford. The Ford dealer looks the same as it did 10 years ago (although theire location change a couple of years ago) their appearance wasn't upgraded. It's very sad and for those 'new car buyers' who look at a dealer before the car will go to Holden.
Do they think they don't need their apperance to sell cars? I think it's discusting. Your thoughts? What are others look like? I know Coffey Ford in Dandenong have just gone big and new!

Most Ford dealerships will have to undergo a rebadge and facelift in the next few years...
Ford are now using silver backgrounds for all their signage and just the blue oval, rather then blue right aroudn the top of the buildings... Q Ford Browns Plains and Metro Ford in the city are the only two I know in Brisbane that have had a face lift.

The upgrade program is called Brand@Retail or something like that. Ford offer the dealers a percentage of the costs to refurbish the dealership to an indentical plan to the others. In another year or two all dealerships should be at the same level.

You’ve made a good point, the Mr average car buyer wants the latte, the comfy couch and everything that goes with it.
Personally for me, I’d rather have the plain looking dealership and have the car a little cheaper. Cheers, Danny

Depends on the dealership I guess. I like mine, although it has some areas which need a cleanup, in particular the parts warehouse.

Only a few of the dealers here in Adelaide have the make over. Stillwell is getting the maker over commencing later this year. All the Jarvis Fords are still the same old looking.
Rex Gorell Ford in Geelong and Westpoint Ford in Werribee both have the make over, and look 100x better than they did before. Don't know about any of the other Ford dealers in Melbourne. IMO dealers should be jumping on the bandwagon and getting it done. Ford are going to require all dealers to have it some day. May as well get it done sooner rather than later. They make enough bloody money to afford it without Ford chipping in! |

But they're knocking it down in sections and rebuilding it, which should be good. The service department is going to be on the same side of the road as the showrooms. |

McGraths in Canberra is going all out. 2 dealerships. one is rebuilt and now they have appointments for servicing. You get to meet your technician and he puts the car on a hoist in the entry area to the worshop and takes you through a few things on your car. Very cool.
The 2nd dealership is undergoing the same renovations. Very modern looking. |

Ford dealers have had the blue band around the top of the buildings for at least 20 years. They are way overdue for a image change. Even Mitsubishi dealers who are doing it tough have updated from the pale blue colour scheme.
