Default Where should I mount my new guage?

Hi guys, those of you with guages in your AU's where do you mount them?

Ive got a new Eboost and its installed but not mounted yet. I have no idea where I can put it so it looks neat. Its a boost controller but packaged like a regular 2 5/8's guage.

Right now I have my boost guage on the steering column and that is fine but the Eboost is a bit bigger so it looks wrong mounted there and blocks the instrument cluster.

I was thinking where the A pillar meets the dash but I dont want passers by to see it so easily, it might be something the police would pick on.

I cant see any room behind the AU 1 centre console/radio surround to mount it in the dash either.

Suggestions?

Do you need it in easy view or can it be outta the way? Ive got a couple of things mounted on the a pillar but i dont live in the police state...

Maybe butcher the aircon vent near the headlight/interior light switch?

Does an AU have any room under the ashtray?

Not enough unfortunately, Thats where it is now but the ashtry has been removed so it can sit there okay.

I might end up putting it in the glovebox, I dont really need to be playing with my boost levels all the time and I still have my other boost guage to look at I spose.

In my opinion, on of the better spots could be on the right hand side of the dash just below the aircon vents (or just over them) depending on the size of the unit. I've see people mount mobile phones there and its quite neat.

This sounds like a great suggestion. You can pop the whole vent surround out with a screwdriver - takes a bit of effort, but it is made to pop out. Then cut it to fit the gauge and presto - you can see it, but it won't be obvious to passers-by. Plus, those vents are hardly used anyway (at least not in my car).
