I don't know if the towbars are standard across the ford range - but this is the stock standard 1600kg attached to my Mondeo TDCI hatch - just for anyone's interest sake

Thanks for posting that! I've been curious what it'd look like ever since I decided to order mine with one on it.
Is the plug in the boot or a receiver underneath? Also, did you get the load leveling kit? I've never used one myself, but apparently the Ford 1600Kg tow package comes with the load leveling attachment. I assume it's just a bit of a riser you attach, but I'm fairly unsure. (If I'm displaying my ignorance too blatantly here, I apologise for the groan I might have caused.

If you mean the plug for the trailor, you can see it in between the tow bar and the first parking sensor on the right. It is in the dark shadow, but it is there.

Oh yeaaaahhh! I didn't even notice it before. I'm glad the hitch isn't like the one on my Kia. They took a saw and cut a chunk out of the bumper to make it all fit properly....no joking. I already warned the dealer that I wouldn't take delivery if they had to chew up the bumper to fit a tow hitch.
Now, with some luck, I'll have a shiny new black XR5 in the driveway Christmas morning to surprise my wife. Of course I get to take it for a spin once she sees it...I hope.

They do take a piece from under the bumper on the XR5 to fit the tow bar - we have a different bumper to the one shown.

On the XR5 the tow bar fits through the rear diffuser, with the trailer lights socket fitted to the towbar arm out of sight.
No cutting or bodging required. I think it looks very neat and tidy The ball is also close to the rear bumper rather than sticking out a mile.
