well im in the begining stages of respraying the ea ghia, i have painted a test panel in the colour i initially chose, midnight black, but it turned out to have the paint swirls showing up really badly, and any little imperfection in the top coat was easily seen so i have decided to pick another colour,
i was thinking of something bright, so it wont show up the imperfections as much but i am stuck on colour choices, i dont want envi or blueprint, i was thinking a yellow/orange type of colour the type thats in between the yellow and orange looks really good on some sports cars. anyway im open to any other suggestions cause im stuck on ideas so what colour do you think will suit the ea?

the lighter the color the less it shows imperfections... That said though if you do the prep properly (with 1200+ grit wet and dry) swirl marks work show up with any color
Are you going to DIY?... If you are I'd say white or silver

yeah im doing it DIY i sont think silver would be a good idea as its relatively hard to paint with and im thinking that white is too common, although will use it as a last resort, i was thinking of doing the svo colours (white/grey) if i had to use white

I've heard Blueprint hides imperfections....probably why ford chose it to hide those 'factory door handle dents'. Pity you don't want that colour tho....

I reckon you should go for a "non-taxi" yellow, I think that most people with falcons don't go yellow, because they think that everyone else, will think that their car was an ex-taxi! But yellow would look awesome with some nice big chrome dished rims. Try and get something totally original happening.

yellow with white wheels, preferably 18's or bigger ;)
Gillys right, yellow on a ford would look nuts, everyone thinks it'd look like a taxi but it wouldn't with the right lowering and wheels. I saw an EL done in bright yellow once and it had some nice wheels, can't remember what they were but it looked SICK! |

Then you can have an EA BT1 : add dumpage, silver stockies and a couple of gauges on the bonnet. Maybe even some venetians for the backwindow :1syellow1
