Default in car kit install in an au series 1

is it possible to install a mobile phone in car kit through the radio on the au 1 stereo so it mutes the radio when you answer the phone. looking to install the kit nest weekend but have no idea what can of worms i will be opening up any help would be great.

theres a 3 pin plug under the centre console near the cup holders. This has power & mute for the hands free kit.

when i installed mine in XR6VCT AUI using the wiring harness under centre consol it worked but got a heap of engin noise through the speakers so i had to use the std speaker that came with the kit
im going to do my AUII XR8 soon hope i have no problems ,i have a siemens m55 phone and car kit
