I have a BA XR8 ute that is an everyday driver and is about to click over 130k...i also have a 94 toyta lexcen (VR Commondore) that is slightly done up but nothing major.
My question is - is there much difference in cost; other than rego and insurance; running 2 cars? i want to try and keep the k's down on the ute, and am happy to drive the lexcaen for work (fulltime job) and also want to regain that wow feeling when i get into it the BOSS next question - if im not driving the ute can i put a car cover on it outside and will it be ok if i dont drive it for a few days? I dont have a carport not a garage. Cheers

i reckon the car cover is definatly better than no cover at all (as long as its a decent cover), it also seems to me the xr8 would cost more to to replace driveline down the track so using the the other cheaper car with cheap drive line to do the lions share of k`s seems to be the the way to save money down the road imo.

driving the Lexcen more would most likely be better for your pocket regarding everyday fuel costs, but i'm sure you could have worked that out yourself. There is no harm in not starting a car for a few days, but longer than a week and your battery can start to go down.

I've heard words that your wheels go a funny shape if it sits idol too long. Keep that in mind, and if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone here will correct it.

the questions have been answered, so now it's closed, before the pack mentality kicks in.
