Default Capa generic disappointment??

well after changing my cat and fixing the mess the last exhaust place made, my car was going nice and hard. today i decided that i was ready to flash tune as id felt the difference the cat made and honestly i am not really impressed... it doesnt even feel any different! i know for a fact that i flashed it correctly, its really not that hard to do and im worried ive spent $500 on nothing.
i know i will need the box when i get it custom tuned but.... i was expecting a bit of a difference on their tune! the only thing i can tell is that the top end seems noticabley slower. my dad suggesting we flash it back and time the car to a few different speeds and compare to the flash tuned version. im going to do this tomorrow but i think i will give a call to capa anyway. the guy from the local dyno place told me id be very happy with the generic tune, he reckons for my mods it doesnt get much better

is there anything that could be the cause of this? has anyone else had any experience where they are unhappy with the generic tune?

I had KPM generic tunes on the Monty. I didnt feel a difference at all.
Went to Willobank to prove it, and cleaned .501 off my 1/4 time, lol. And gained 50km to the tank.

thats interesting.... i really should just get it dynoed
thing is i bought it to feel it, not to have a piece of paper saying the car is faster lol
i suppose once i get the cam and stuff done the custom tune will be a bit better...

Custom tune should be about 2 - 3hrs dyno time max (unless you have cams in a BA - BF then it takes time or your going forced induction with no base tune to start with), Although ive seen them done in an hour on cars with similar mods to what you have listed.

g and d performance told me that the bigger the cam the more stuffing around with the tune so if i choose a sensible cam it wont be a big job. they didnt bother getting back to me with a quote tho, its been nearly a week and i left my number and he has my forum username (i messaged them before i called)
i think jim mock wanted to charge 1600 and i dont think that was with the tune, im not sure

I have prety much the biggest cam you would want to run in an auto. I left my car with Chiptorque and from scratch, it took the 2 hours, but I only wanted them to have it for two hours, and they told me another hour and it would be well and truly done. PLus they ran into fuel and intake issues, so its good they stopped.
Prices are generally around $150-$200 an hour, so at 3 hours, thats around $450-$600.
