Default Message for Ford - Send an FG F6 to the UK for Topgear

Since Clarkson loves the HSV so much, how about Ford send them over an F6 for some tyre frying action on UK Topgear.

I reckon an auto F6 would have him drooling. Maybe just put some decent rubber under the butt so they could get some traction....sort of a super Modeo for him.

Wouldn't they have to start selling the car over there first?

Hasn't this already been done?

Even though Clarkson isn't involved (and frankly, I prefer it that way...) I'm 99.99% positive that a pommy rag has covered this.

Everyone agrees, me too, but unlike Holden who exports to America, for some reason we don't have this privelege. However in the current economic climate this is unlikely to be profitable even for Holden. I'm not knowledgable with this sort of thing, or why ford hasn't done it either. Ohio xb, sorry to call on you again but if you know why ford has not exported please shed some light. You always seem to know more than just opinion.

The FG wont get to the states as Ford doesnt built there cars to be set up for left-hand drive. The poms would love them though i think. I no alot of poms that have moved out to sunny Australia and they all say the same things about the fords, they looks great. Most now own either BA-BF or FG falcons of various descriptions

Wasn't the FG made wider on left side so it could be converted LHD in the future ??They are the same dementions on both sides of the body now, no offset ...
Previous Falcons TMK are wider on drivers side..

Two years ago Ford received money to turn it into LHD, but that was canned/put on the shelf.

I posted this thread a little while ago:

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11252143

Didn't get much attention but I believe this could be a good way of getting Topgear's attention.

I'm sure topgear UK is aware of the Falcon as I am sure they do get around to reading their sub's local Australian topgear magazine.

Does anybody know if this actually happened, I'm looking for a change from my AU2 XR8, at the moment it looks like being an M5 or another Jag XKR, but if there are some of these Nizpro Falcons kicking around in the UK I'll have to do a bit more research.
I imagine that if they did get sent over here, a few should be coming up on the second hand market by now...
I'm aware of a single BA Typhoon over here (not nizpro) and a few XR6t Utes, but they aren't my bag.
Any info would be much appreciated

i had a look but i couldnt find any more info later then when that video was made. Best bet would be email Nizpro and see what they say.

They were package protected for LHD in the initial design, meaning they can be made into LHD without any major hurdles that would stop it from being done. Being the same width on either side of the centre console would be one of those things done.

The FG was going to be made in LHD, but buggered if I can find out why it wasn't done. Most likely because Detroit denied FoA an export market they wanted.

Someone suggested this years ago and even wrote to Clarkson. Theres an importer in the UK with and F6, and those details were provided as well.

Maybe we could export the "Bannana Bros" (Spooly n Mauz) and thier Phoons to terrorise the Poms for a month or so, : Then just let them slip quietly back home to Oz , My geuss would be that would give the Poms something to talk about ......... :
