Hi guys,
Im doing this for a friend but he is seriously considering buying a 1992 Telstar TX5 Ghia 4ws. its a manual and has done 230,000 ks What general problems do these cars have and is there any advice people could give me to pass off to my mate before he buys it? Thanks everybody |

great cars
i own an 89 model with 292000 ks and still going strong, mine dosnt have the 4ws but is still a tx5 ghia, im assuming its the 6 cylinder? ive got a 4 so i dont really know about the ax-ay type, spend a bit of time on this forum to find out more http://www.tx5club.co.nr/ |

yeah 6 cylinder.
considering that it is a 92 model... is the 4ws reliable since it is a fairly old designed system? because thats the only thing hes worried about right now. |

I had a '92 V6 manual TX5 Ghia without 4WS. Great car, comfy, quick and reliable. Make sure all the electronic stuff works, the A/C compressor is not clicking, no engine oil leaks and all the fluids are right. Don't forget the basics like tyres, shocks and driveshafts.
Parts for these cars are not cheap - generally everything is double the price of the same thing for a Laser/323. |
