Question (help) ED 6cyl smoke on start up

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has come across this before, and could possibly shed some light for me.

I have a ED 6cyl which is blowing sooooo much smoke (only on start up),
and only if vehicle has been stationary for 5 hrs or more.

it keeps blowing blue smoke for about 4 - 5 minutes and then completley clears up.
(no smoke while driving)

I replaced the valve stem seals on the weekend, and the guides dont appear to have excessive wear.

I'm thinking maybe a cracked head, but everything appears fine (no iced coffee, not using coolant, not overheating)

If anyone has any suggestions, it will be greatly appreciated.

I dont think so, compresion is all even, and its not burning oil or blowing smoke while driving.

Leaking fuel pressure reg.. When the car is sitting the fuel is ruiing into the vacume line and filling the maifold with fuel?..... this would casue it to run rich for a few minutes when cold... or leaking fuel injectors

How about checking out your throttle body? Mine has an oil line leading into it for some reason (I can't remember what it does again) but it might have something to do with this line? IE traces of oil might me making its way into the TB when the car is parked, and on startup the oil gets blown into the engine with the air, causing temporary blue smoke?

Blue smoke is Fuel i think and black is oil, or is it the other way around? I always forget. I dont know if that factor will help you trace the problem?

Sounds like valve stem seals , I had this problem in my XF Fairmont Ghia except the blue smoke lasted for 10 seconds not 10 minutes.

Blue smoke is oil, and black is excess fuel.
