Mitchell Street is the main street where pubs and clubs are. I dont know what you like but the doof doof music is at Discovery nightclub. Some pubs to look out for are Shenanigans and topend hotel (not sure what they're called now maybe lizzards, they are on the corner of mitchell and daly street).
For shopping you can go to Casuarina shopping square, its a 20 min bus ride away from the city but its the biggest shopping centre up there. NAMSC is a car club that gets involved in racing at hidden valley and motorkhanas. http://www.namsc.org.au/ They have a motorkhana out at hughes airstrip this sunday, go and see that its fun. Skylines to minis to V8s knocking down witches hats and doing skids! its a fair distance from darwin city though, bout 1hour drive south, but a good trip. Crocodylis cove is on mitchell street, a touristy place where you can see crocodiles. Just a few things you might be interested in. |

TOT is at Discovery, Honey Pot isn't too bad. Crocodylis Cove is meh. if its shopping/escaping the heat you want then Casuarina shopping centre is the place to go.
Mindil beach market is on sunday night is an alright way to waste some time. other than that Shags and the VIC and the Casino are the way to go
