Question EB2 Fuel Gauge?

Hey guys,

just wanted to know other peoples experiences with their EB2-ED fuel gauge.

mine, (GLi dash), stays at full for about 80-100km then drops at an increasing rate.

just wondered what other people have experienced with this?

cheers

Daniel

same here. i'll get about 150km on 'full'. then by half full i have done about 230-250 and take about 50 kms to drop to under a quarter. then i get like another 100 under a quarter lol. i know exactly how good my economy is so i just go off the trip meter/odometer. once its over 400kms, time to gamble it or fill up.

Ive had a similar problem and now dont trust the "kms" to go on the Giah range computer as we relied on it coming back from Melb , only to have the last 100km's disappear on the dial for 50Kms. Leaving us in the lurch, but it did get us home, just.

Yep, they seem to do that. I get around 100-150km before it even moves. Once under halfway it goes VERY quickly.
Ya put $10 in the car when its like empty and it fills it up to halfway lol.

You think yours is an eater?!?! I just put $60 yesterday morning in my EB2 and its down to 1/4 after driving approx 150kms
And yeah my petrol gauge does exactly the same thing, my solution, get a motorbike....

My EAII does exactly the same. I get about 600km out of a tank, but for the first 200 kms or so, it stays at full. I don't trust the trip computer either.

My EB also does exactly the same, showing full for the first 150-200kms. Probably just to make you think the car's fuel efficient... I don't know how some of you could be getting 22L/100kms, currently I'm getting 11.3L/100kms, and that's 100% around town driving, mostly down Ferntree Gully road in peak hour, and including a bit of an exercusion through the Dandenongs.

god that bloody innacurrate thing!!! mine will stay full for bout 150km, then drop to bout half in the next 50km, stay there for a bit then go for a dive to near empty then go back up!!! i give up on it and just go by the trip meter. 400km per tank, easy

My ED only goes up to 3/4 mark when it has a full tank. I think this is due to the bouy in the tank being partly filled with fuel.
Usually get 600Ks on a tank- highway.

get a new sender from the wreckers.. and tell them if its not accurate u wanna swap it over for one that is... and see how it goes

depends on the wrecker as to if they'll like that idea or not...

The senders are a PITA in EB's, like everyone else if you fill up, it stays on full for the first 150kms or so, once it moves off full it just seems to lose the plot. I know that I get roughly 400 -450 kms out of a tank (depending on how I've been driving) so I rely on the trip meter.

My car was on reserve the other day, I put $20 worth in at $116.9c/L and my gauge went up to 3/4!! :

Mine does the same, except it is not as bad...ie) it'll stay on full for 20km's, then drop to half after about another 200km's, and the last quarter will last me about 150km's...
