Hi all
I have the coolant low symbol illuminated, not flashing, on my dash board. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem |

Is your coolant level at the correct height?
if so, sometimes the sensor can be taken out of the bottle and cleaned which may rectify the problem, sometimes they need replacing, somebody just bypass the sensor |

How do you take the sensor out to clean it or swap it over for another sensor |

a nice pair of multigrips or pliers should be able to undo the screw in thingee (technical term) which holds the sender in. From what i understand its a common problem, that red coolant ford used from factory cloggs up the senders.
I dont think they cost too much from ford to replace either. hope that helps |

The easiest way to get the retainer out is with a pair of long nose pliers. There are holes in the retainer that you put the tips of the pliers in, then unscrew it. Give the switch a good clean, they get a lot of filings on the magnet and check that the float isn't full of coolant.

I can get the retainer out, but the swith/sensor, what ever it is doesn't want to come out for me to clean it or fix it. How can i get it out?
