Default Louder Exhaust Note?

I got extractors, high flow cat and a 2.5" exhaust but the note is still not loud enough I reckon.
It sounds alot more deeper than stock but its still a little quiet.

Anybody have any sensible ideas what I could do to increase the sound output?
Some guy reckoned I could get a much bigger tip but I could also start loosing power if the exhaust pipes are too large.

I'm a little lost about this.
I also wanna try and give it more of a V8-like burble. It sound similar to one at idle and low rpm but then becomes a flat drone at higher revs.

You cant make a 6 sound like a V8....it is simply impossible.
To get louder now oyu would best be looking at a less restrictive muffler. In the end though it's never going to sound like a V8.

I know I cant make a 6 sounds exactly like an 8 but mine already sounds alot similar to one at idle and low rpm. Its got that nice burble, but as soon as I start accelerating it speeds up and becomes a flat bhrrrrrr like you get from those fart can lancers. :(

Im very sure your car doesnt sound like a fart can Lancer, you have atleast 2 more litres ans 2 more cyl. If i were in your situation, id be happy with its sound, nothing nicer than a sleeper effect.

different air filters give different sound also... mine sounds way louder and gruntier with the airbox lid cut off (experiment by removing the lid and taping the filter to the airbox and see if it sounds any different)

Well the povo way to get a louder and nicer exhaust sound is to just remove the rear exhaust pipe (from the muffler back).

Mine was damaged so i just left it off till i got the 3" piping done. Sounds alot better throughtout the rev range.

Does tend to vibrate the **** out of everything though. You'll get heaps of rattles that you never had before ;)

Why would you want an E-series six to be that loud anyway? They sound like absolute crap if they're much louder than stock. I used to have mine really loud but I changed it back to stock because I just got so sick of it.

thats true...I haven't heard any ford 6 thats sounds as good as mine to be honest. I haven't been on a cruise yet, and I am sure there is better/similar though.

And mines a stock motor, just a 2.5 with a straight through and it burbles better than most holden V8's ive heard.

There nothing like changing into second and rolly past a commy..the looks I get are priceless.

I really need to get some more go to back up the sound though..lol
