Default Radiator Dash Light

Hi all, just a quick question about my EL XR6. During a long stint on the freeway the otherday my radiator light on the dash came on. So i stopped at the next servo to fill the radiator/reservoir but it was fine. So i kept driving and noticed that when stopped at idle the car heated up a little (not overheating but a noticable temp increase) when driving it went back down.

I had also replaced the float switch in the reservoir about three weeks ago as it was leaking and corroded.

Just seems strange and wonder if this has happened to anybody else? Does any other swith trigger the light on the dash or is it just the water level? Why would the light be on when the water level is fine?

Any hepl would be appreciated.

Cheers
Stefan

get a pressure test done on ya cooling system, possibly a hose leaking somewere, ive noticed with the falcons if ya hoses are all good, temperature will decrease on idle, only after u been giving it some will it increase and it sounds like u havent been giving it any?
