Default Tickford brakes

Anyone got some tips on painting the Tickford brake calipers?

I'm having troubles masking off the Tickford logo...

I remember reading a thread around somewhere but can't find it anywhere now...

A big smear of a heavy grease in the logo apparently works.

What I'm really after is how people have masked the etched, embossed whatever Tickford logo on the Tickford Premium calipers.

I tried the plasticine method with horrible results. I think I might strip mine back one day and actually take the calipers off the car and do it.

I got clear one sided sticky contact, cut it to the rough shape of the logo, stuck it over the top then carefully cut around the logo with a razor blade. Then painted over it and when paint dried pulled off the contact...worked a treat.

pour hot wax over the logo, then when its set, shave it with a razor blade so its flush. then paint it. the paint won't stick to the wax so it should then be easy to just scratch out the wax or melt it out with a hair drier. never tried it but its bound to work....

Nothing beats good quality masking tape!!!

Not familiar with the logo but if raised even better to mask off... Start by masking the raised edge carefully & then fold excess over... then mask top of logo making sure it's completally covered. Paint!!! When dry carefully remove masking with the aid of a stanley knife were tape joins paint.
