I'm pretty sure my WS manual Zetec gets it's best economy at 50-60 km/hr in 5th driving on a motorway or flat country road. I'm also sure that's the best way to off ever other motorist.

The WS is let down by lack of a tall 6th gear. At 110 km/h it's doing 3300 rpm in 5th and getting around 6 L/100km. Our auto Magna does 2500 rpm and get 9 L/100 km at 110 km/h. However with a mix of M2 and street driving I can still average close to 6 L/100km in the WS, while the Magna does 12 L/100km.

It's a city car.
