Personally I would like to see ford move away from conventional ac compressors and start using Denso's new electric compressor. Theyre originally designed for hybrid cars but could easily be used in normal applications. If this were to be implemented, possibly along with earlier comments on electric waterpumps and powersteering pumps, it would have to go a long way towards improved fuel economy.

Looking at the fuel figures for the DIV6, I hope Ford are gonna have some more reductions when the Euro 4 I6 comes online.

New Holden Commodore MY10 V6 (for Commodore Omega and Berlina)
Engine: 3.0-litre V6 Power: 190kW at 6700rpm ***Torque: 290Nm at 2900rpm*** Recommended fuel: 91 RON (regular unleaded) Fuel consumption: 9.3L/100km to 9.6L/100km (depending on model) New Holden Commodore MY10 V6 (for Calais and Commodore SV6) Engine: 3.0-litre V6 Power: 210kW at 6400rpm ***Torque: 350Nm at 2900rpm*** Recommended fuel: 91 RON (regular unleaded) Fuel consumption: 10.1L/100km to 10.3L/100km (depending on model) Torque will make it a 'interesting' drive? Also interesting the RPM levels these peak figures are achieved at.

Looks like it was all fuss over nothing, again.
No offence, but those power figures whilst impressive will play second fiddle to the serious lack of torque. More Holden engines = more boat anchors.

Its the fuel consumption that will get people (or more so fleets) to buy it. If its geared properly with short gears it may be ok.

EDIT: I take that back. The tailpipe emissions will still put it over the threshold for everything bar executive-level usage. |

One less mod they can do, which will make it even easier to beat them in a drag.
