That's rare - a 3-door Cossie on an 1987 'E' reg number plate ! I thought all the 3-doors finished up on a 'D' reg number plate... anyway, that probably does not mean much to all the aussies reading this !!

(Hint - all UK cars can be identified by their suffix or prefix letter on the number plate, 'E' was Aug' 1987 - Aug' 1988, 'F' was Aug' 1988 - Aug' 1989 etc..)

Always loved the early 2.8 Cologne engined XR4i and 2.9 XR4x4 Sierras, sadly not many left now due to tinworm back in the mother country !

I had a Sierra XR4i which went like stink in a straight line, but didnt like corners much. Drank fuel at a frightening rate, about 30l per 100km, but sounded sensational. It just got expensive keeping it in 98 RON fuel.

This is my project - an XR4Ti.

I'm now in the position that I don't know what to fit a towbar to, as I just replaced the AU with an R33 Skyline. Neither car would look good towing a trailer to the dump!

I owned a 1991 Sierra 1.8 as a daily driver in the UK back in 1997.

Didn't seem all that fast to me.....! Best it would do was 125mph on the M4 between Swindon and Bristol. Downhill.

The 1.8L engine had 90bhp from memory... but 125mph is not too bad at all considering !

I remember being gutted as a teenager when Dick Johnson first raced his sierra and it wasn't in Palmer Tube Green colours. But that didn't matter when ya saw the speed of the bastard!!!!!

That early 90's Escort RS Cosworth has to be my dream car... past or present... Pocket rocket... and a front lip spoiler/rear wing, that actually did have downforce!

Would love to find one in the UK and bring it back with me.

Default Sierra down under

Recently I got hold of the Sierras bigger brother, the Granada. It's based on a stretched Sierra floorpan and in my case comes with a Cosworth DOHC 24 valve V6.
Pictures and details are on my website.

Mate, there is a black one in Sydney on Ebay. 1986 Cosworth. He's advertised it for 30k a few times, and hasn't had any bids. He's hoping that dropping the price by $100 might help.

If you have a lazy $87,000 NZD hanging around this would be a sweet buy...
