Hey Guys,

Is anyone aged between 22-25 (I'm 24) and owns an xr6 Turbo?

What are you paying annually for comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.

Price seems ridiculous! Still in the odd 1300's... honestly thought it would go down significantly since I was 21.

Thanks,

I am 24 have a 2007 BF MK II XR6 Turbo and my insurance is 860 a year. I am with AAMI. I have never had and traffic infringement or a at fault accident so i think that helps.

There are a lot of factors that can affect your premium such as, where the car is parked at night, what suburb/town you live in and your driving history. I did find that when shopping around there were a lot of different prices for example Just Cars was $1387 a year. You also need to ask for a break down of your excess RACQ were cheaper for me but for as long as i had that car if i was at fault in an accident there was an additional $400 high performance excess on top of the normal excess

Thanks,

I own 2007 XR6 Turbo (am not in that age range though, but mid 30's) but I have serious modifications and I pay approx $1200 through Shannons.

it depends on your postcode, age is minimal.
i pay $305 per year for an V8.
when i lived in sydney i paid $1,117 per year. (same car)
granted i'm over 40 with rating 1 NCB, but the postcode is the killer.

Thanks,
25 is the age it goes down, not 21. Under 25s are the high risk age bracket as far as insurance companies are concerned.

$1300pa doesn't sound that ridiculous for a turbs for an under 25; far from cheap though. My V8 costs me about $600pa and I'm 30. But since mines just an XT it's not seen as a high performance vehicle like the XR6T/XR8 anyway.

I'm 28 & I pay $700 for my XR8 with an agreed value of 25k, goes down heaps once ya hit 25.

$1300 sounds pretty good for your age bracket.

Thanks,
You obviously don't live in Sydney.

I've never had the luxury of only paying $1300 for insurance - 25+ is when it goes down. I'm 39 with no accidents/fines in 10+ years and have rating 1 for life and I'm paying $2000pa for an R32. Used to pay $400 more for a BA XR8.

Be thankful your insurance is so cheap.

On my 05 xr8 I just went from market value $20700 which cost $1020 per year, to agreed value of $27000 which now costs me $1300, but what could I buy for $20700 if something happened?
