Not a fair comparison in my opinion. They kept referring to the Ecoboost engine as a 'V6'.. I could probably count on one hand the amount of times they mentioned it was a TWIN TURBO engine. The other V8's are NA.. yes?
Bit like putting an 09 Falcon against an 09 WRX and saying that the 6 was beaten buy a '4 cylinder'... All in all, I was impressed with the results. I think, to finish off they should have mentioned as a side by side comparison things like HP, torque, weight, fuel consumption, and RRP of each model. |

At the end of the day, a V8 still sounds like a V8 and that is why we all buy them, correct?

Very interesting vidoes.. Whilst this test was V6T vs V8 NA, I think here in Australia & falcon it is a very good guide to I4T vs V6 NA (even vs I6 NA).. Should be very interseting to see what the I4T does do in the falcon.

i was wondering the percentage of possible power loss at that elevation and found this info via Mr Google..... Air Density decreases at a rate of 2.9% - 3.0% for each 1000 ft. of elevation above Sea Level.
it would have been interesting to dyno these limo`s at elevation , not a bad effort to get the lincon up there in that bunch of cars turbo or not. |

2k's altitude is for areoplane's not cars, NA engine's will have an asthma attack at that hight.

I'd assume a TT V6 would beat most NA V8's. Not really sure what the test proves.
However it does build hype for Ford which is a good thing and hopefully it is reflected in the sales. Having 'eco' in the same seems to sell anything these days. |

Would I be right in saying that at that altitude the turbo engine has a huge advantage over an NA version due to the turbo compressing the thin air and compensating for it, which the NA versions cannot.
Give me the Jag XF anyday, they are horn, inside and out. |

I see that test differently, I don't see it as a 6 v 8 thing, more as a cheaper competitor and dispelling the myth of the likes of BMW, showing that you can have a performance luxury car without selling organs on the black market.
As Australian's, we already no this thanks to the G6ET
