If the flasher can is gone, should the hazards still work?
I'm having a problem with intermittent blinker flashing, however hazards are fine. |

they use the same flasher unit so they won't work if the flasher is gone you'll need to look elsewhere like the switch

It's just the flasher relay unit. It's relay R5 in the kick panel near the driver's right knee. It's located in the upper right section inside there. It should only cost something like $35 or thereabouts for a new relay from any auto store (auto pro, etc) and a few seconds of your time.

Yup replaced the flasher can with a repco one, works perfectly now. It's actually quieter than the ford one.. It took less than 15 seconds. Just took the fuse panal off, pulled it out, and stuck the new one in.
For anyone searching and reading this with the same problem, if your car doesn't have a towbar, it will be a 3 pin unit. Cars with a ford optioned and possibly aftermarket towbar, will need a 5 pin flasher. |
