As a few of you have read in my other threads i have had a fair drama with my Fairlane. it turned out to be a broken wire!!!!

During this time i have relied on the forum for help and have had more than i could hope for. so thank you to all how have replied to my threads.

the power wire leading to the ISC. When i changed the plugs i do remember my forearm pushing against it, and it had at some point been broken before and repaired. i checked it but the broken bit was up inside the plastic wire surround.

i had a guy come and do a fault code scan and nothing showed up, which surprised me, but then he said he had come across it before so he checked power to the ISC and behold none- $2 and 5 min and 6 weeks of drama over!

now the problem is its drinking petrol to the tune of 18L/100k's. so im getting the injectors cleaned and new o2 sensors, even though they didnt show a fault code they are at least 150,000k old

And thats why, time and time again, if i don't know the answer, i take it to the professionals. With so little cost and so little effort they can minimise what you perceive as a massive issue down to just a tiny little fix.

thanks Mr Hardware i might do that l

now that the main drama isnt one i will get the new converter after new year. in the mean time im just going to do all the little things that need doing. when i disconnected the gas a lot of hose's were well worn so i will get all that so when i give it to the gas guy its all ready to go.
