By looking at the scene, holden took the roundabout too fast and could not make the turn, jumped the gutter, flattened a sign and flipped this van. OUCH
(all numberplates and people in the scene/accident have been blurred) Was going to get my DSLR out but scared the cops woulda told me off. So camera phone is fine! |

But yerh a lot of people underestimate that roundabout. He must of been going a decent speed to jump the curb, flatten pole and push the car to its side. Would hate to know what the guy was thinking in the van. |

I can see this thread going nowhere fast. Not knowing all factors involved makes this a hard situation to judge

The guy in the towing shirt is picking his ear thinking, 'not sure if there's more gold in my ear, or in the Holden driver category.'
But really...it's the person behind the wheel...could just have been a person in a Ford, Toyota, or even a Datsun.

I know this because a mate of mine bought a VXII Super6 and it only had a drivers 'bag and I laughed.

VX commodore, but if it's anything like my VT commodore, its a POS around corners. 205mm tyres too thin, fresh tyres help, but lose their 'newness' grip after about 3-4 months of normal driving due to too much bodyroll around corners, which put more stress on the tyres. Can remember most of the times where the car would almost understeer (lack of front tyre grip) or oversteer (too much bodyroll) while going around a roundabout at average speeds. (Dads camry takes them roundabouts with ease and good posture).

Yeah McobraR, you're right about the 205's. I have always wholeheartedly believed they should have retired the RE92's with the VSII, the switch to the 1.5tonne+, twin piston braked VT and onwards was simply too much for the skinny little fifteens the commodore wore. It most certainly was insufficient for the VZ wagon I had. 175kw, 1700kg and 205/65/15's don't mix, kiddies.

I bet as many Fords are invovled ina ccidents as holdens. It isn't the car brand, it's the driver. |

I think the OP is simply playing on the friendly rivalry between ford and holden in his title, with the stereotype that it's a hoon.
Yes we are all aware that not only Holdens are involved in accidents. : Must have been a decent hit for the van to topple.

ahhh... nope. There are more Holden drivers that crash than Ford drivers. It's the type of drivers Holden attract.

I seen this thread a while ago and waited for it to be locked, but seeing as it hasn't I thought I could weigh in :
Firstly we see only a picture of the aftermath - quite a nasty one at that I must admit, but we cannot judge as we do not have all the facts on hand as to what caused said accident. Secondly the make of the car matters little if someone is an idiot they are an idiot the badge on their car makes zero difference. Thirdly the result is bad in terms of twisted metal - I can see potential for this to have been a hundred times worse, what if the toppled van was a people mover full of kids? I sincerely hope that everybody involved learns from the incident and walks away with minimal injuries.
