Hey guys, I'm looking into buying another car and I've been trying to run VIN checks on the car I'm interested and Vic Road's checker keeps returning errors, just like how their online test booking system doesn't work either. Is there any other way I can check it?

You'd think a company which recieves government funding would have the best of everything, waitup, this was the company who still uses 486s in their office. |

I did a couple over the last few days
I called Vicroads on 13 11 71 and used their automated service Hit the registration option and give them the registration number It then gives you: - make and model of car - date of regn expiry - confirms it has been reported stolen or not - informs you of any financial interest You can then purchase the a Vehicle Securites Register certificate for $15 approx which is valid till midnight the following day Juts picked up a new car for the missus an hour ago... : |

If you call 131171 they give you the same information as above and it is for free
You only pay if you want a copy of the vehicle securities register certificate for protection againts someone claiming financial interest in the car at a later date (ie finance/leasing company/bank etc) |
