My father passed away 4 years ago so I'll be at the Cemetary. He liked his beer so for Fathers Day I take a coldie there and have a drink for him

My kids will no doubt again each rob me of $20 to buy their Dad a pressie and my youngest (with a little help from me) had a picture of herself printed onto a coffee mug for her Dad to use at work

ok so eye rolling at the cynical people. how about buying him something cos you love him or how much he means. i gave my best mate my zippo ive had for 5 years last night. i loved that zippo and always freaked if i couldnt find it. but he means a lot and has helped me out a lot so i gave it to him. as for my dad i bought him a pair of nice calvin klein sunglasses cos he needed a decent pair.

I've been told my Dad wants a bottle of his favourite wine. So I guess thats what he'll get. He got some only the other week as it was his birthday, and it isn't all gone yet. :

Why is it that you must show you father that you love him on the same day every year. If you love your father and want to show him how much he means, then why not just say it to him. Don't wait for a predetermined date. Do it any time. Otherwise we are just buying those presents those cards, because the calendar says you should. You are being told that you must tell your dad you love him. You must buy him a present.

If I feel like it I'll call the old man. Thats all he ever gets. And as a father, I expect the same from my child. Nothing. No present. No card. Not anything. Not even the words "Happy Fathersday"

I do nice things and buy stuff for my dad throughout the year, this day is pretty meaningless.

Although I got him an A.C.T Brumbies jacket for fathers day.

I won't be doing anything with my stepfather (real father deceased) as I'll be at WSID giving my car a good thrashing as Ford never intended it too.

I'll prob send him something in the mail anyway.

Exactly. Its all marketing hype to get people to spend money. The shops love it. If my old man wanted someting for fathers day I'd offer him a drive of the T.:newangel:

Yes its mostly marketting BS but you dont have to buy presents.... sometimes all it takes is a BBQ lunch or even a phonecall.
I wont be speaking to my father but I will be ringing my stepfather because his own kids wont..... no present needed.
