Default Below around 1600rpm... car seems to stutter a bit!

What could be the cause of this?

Usually when I am stopped, and begin to accelerate slowly it takes 2-3 seconds to kick into gear. Before it kicks in, it kind of sputters, like it is gonna stall, but it never does stall. Had a scary experience when turning out of a corner in which I had plenty of time to make the turn, but those 2-3 seconds made it far too close for comfort.

I'm pretty sure it is not to do with the tuning of my car, cuz it has never happened before. I have reflashed the tune in and tried the 95oct tune, both with the same results.

It also occurs when i am in high gear, cruising with revs below around 1600rpm and put my foot down a little bit more, it hesitates.

I've seen similar threads where people have suggested leads? It has been around 18 months since i replaced them, so it could be the go.

Just wanna see any other opinions

Thanks wise ones

Could be leads, could be injectors/fuel

Had my EF do this also, after changing the leads I found it to be the fuel filter. Pretty certain it was the factory item.

Maybe try changing that?

Yeah the more I think about this the more I'm leaning towards a fuel issue

Both my AU's have done this, I never gave a crap about it because I never run my AUII on petrol and I never cared about the AU1 as it was purely a money-making exercise.

The petrol injectors on the AU's must be different to the E-series because i'm sure they're heaps more resilliant. If my AUII was an EL, i would expect at least two to be fully blocked by now, not just a tiny bit inhibited.

First step: change fuel filter and run a bottle of injector cleaner with bp98.

The problem I had with the AU1 i had did get a bit annoying if i wanted to burn someone off from the lights, I'd give it a full boot and the car would hesitiate with a quick 'blup-blup-BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR'

loss of vacum due to the larger cam that you have installed, my car did it when I had the bigger cam in but now I'm back to the stock one it doesn't. or maybe its the isc?

Check leads and plugs, then replace fuel pump!

Last set of leads, around 30,000 ago
I have only ever run injector cleaner through my car once (over 2 years ago)

Will be getting that injector cleaner on my next fill up

Then replace the fuel filter!

Hopefully that will solve it

Thanks guys! Will keep u all informed
