Default UAV's for traffic law enforcment (speed etc) UK

Quote:
Police in the UK are planning to use unmanned spy drones, controversially deployed in Afghanistan, for the "routine" monitoring of antisocial motorists, protesters, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers, in a significant expansion of covert state surveillance.

The arms manufacturer BAE Systems, which produces a range of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for war zones, is adapting the military-style planes for a consortium of government agencies led by Kent police.

Documents from the South Coast Partnership, a Home Office-backed project in which Kent police and others are developing a national drone plan with BAE, have been obtained by the Guardian under the Freedom of Information Act.
More detail:-

Naturally enough, application could apply for many a government agency.

Brave new world.

Will this too end in a frenzy of beating and chanting that devolves into a mass orgy of soma and sex?

whats with the new world order of being watched/spied upon, I thought we lived in non 3rd world countries which were bound by laws but we were basically free from being imprisoned, its getting to the state of ridiculous when a country decides to spy upon its own citizens, yes the points of 'antisocial motorists, protesters, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers' will be used to get support for this technology but at what price? Where does the spy work stop and start.

it doesn’t bother me now, but how much crap comes from o/s that Australia decides to adopt and become more gov controlled every day.

lol really, we are not that far removed from police states of the world.

just because we are allowed to get smashed and wake up with a manbearpig doesnt mean we are actually free.

world governments are the same all over.

some kill to get their point across. some demolish your principals, some belittle you. some turn you into a liar.

they are all the same.

Ever watched the movie with Will Smith, Enemy of the State. The technology is all there, just needs some **************** in the government somewhere who is bored one week and then decides that spying is a good idea and its for the safety of the kids. He/She gets her face on the news and is happy that his/her ego has been stroked enough but we are left with legislation that means it can happen any place, any time.
It is seriously like everyone in governments around the world is battling to think up the newest way to save the world no matter how stupid it may be, or how much it impedes on the freedom of citizens. Please stop, do what you were put there to do and run the country. Thats all.

It's natural progression for any Government...

This is their long-term plan, to control the masses and turn us into slaves.

George Orwell must be turning in his grave !!

Problem is, people are waking up to their deceptions and lies, so the secret Governments are tightening the noose as we speak. They must maintain control of the population at all costs.

By the way, there are over 4 million surveillance cameras in the UK, and they want to ban large kitchen knives! :togo: :togo:
