Default Front Bumper Sag

hey all,

my front bumper sags in the middle more than an elderly womans.... anyway, wondering how i can get it sitting up nice and straight again?? already looked at the brackets and they are nice and tight, and dont know if there is any adjustment there?

was gonna look at putting a self tapper at the top rear of it into the honeycomb but you'll be able to see that and i obviously dont want that so yeah

I used about 5 thick cable ties to hold it up. You can see them, so if you care about how your car looks, I wouldnt do it my way, lol.

My ghetto fix was to use a long screw through the little "hole" behind the bumper (the hole is behind the number plate) and attach that with a bolt and washer on the metal behind the bumper reinforcement. Probably not the best way to do it, but it worked for me and I figure that I might as well use it seeing as it's there

I'll try and see if I can find some pictures of it.

There is a way to do this with cable ties so that you can't see them. Works a treat!

Without my wagon in front of me, I can't quite describe it with total confidence, but I'll give it a try.

You take off the grille. You drill small holes in both the rear lip of the bumper and the white, plastic rio behind it. You simply use the smaller cable ties to attach the bumper to the reo. As you do it gives the bumper a bit of a tummy tuck! LOL!

When you put the grille back on, if you've done it right, the grille will hide the cable ties.

It was JC that did mine, so I suspect he'll be along soon to tell you! LOL! At least he'll correct me if I missed some important details in the description.

All the best with it.

I used a 3/16" x 75mm screw to do it, it's basically just the right length And your number plate covers that 'hole', you need to push through the plastic to get it though Have a look at it and you'll see what I mean.

Oh and ignore the dodgy paintjob attempt, it was worth the effort in learning things the hard way such as using MASKING tape instead of stickytape :, and sanding the primer even though the spray can says you don't need to! :

There's another way to do it! A lot quicker and simpler too I guess.

What does the fastener, screw into? The reo I guess?

There's a hole in the metal that the bumper reinforcement holds onto (in between the two middle pieces of reinforcement). That's what I was trying to explain in my first post :p

I thought the hole you were describing was the hole in the bumper. That's the only hole you actually mentioned.

In any case, so there's a hole to screw into after you insert the screw into the hole in the bumper, and push through the bumper plastic? Is that what you mean?

Exactly that! It's almost as if it was designed as an alternative method to tighten the bumper up because the plastic in that 'hole' was so soft, I was expecting to have to drill through it but just pushing the screw through worked fine

And I'm still 18, here I was thinking I was getting old :P
