apart from a Ford dealer, dont know if you'll find a "just" Ford mechanic. wouldnt think it would be economically viable for a business to do this.

probably comes down to what sort of work you want done ? as far as performance tuning, no experiencing with any personally, but names mentioned on the forum would be Elite, Bob Romano and RDP - the later is northside tho

I can recommend UMR Engines in Moss Street, Slacks Creek - Mark has done the engine rebuild on my '62 Compact Fairlane, and some other automotive repair work as well, and I couldn't be happier with his helpful attitude and top ethics.

Cool Ford Mechanic

Hi just reading your post
Ive got a guy that gives old school service (you can talk to him)
and seems reasonable enough in his pricing
hes a one man operation at Marsden on the southside
behind Supercheap and the garden supply
hes into old cars and hotties/racing even if they are Commodores
go and talk to Lindsey at Marsden mechanical and RWC
or ring him on 32996141
hes done RWCs and services and picked the problem with my AU
after it just stopped ( the crank angle sensor) which had me stuffed
sorry for the AD but these guys are hard to find
the only other mech I found to be trustworthy was
John French (Dick Jonsons old sparing partner)
off Moss street
thanks John

If your after a decent reliable mechanic I can recommend Jeff from QDAD automotive, he is a Ford trained mechanic having worked with Ford for many years. he has serviced all my cars for the past 4 years without any probs.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I can't agree with the few people....they service my GT plus they own a few Fords as well , and have modded their fair share .
They are always busy so book ahead , and I would qualify with Paul the few people you know of who were not happy !!!

Chiptorque down the coast do great work on cars.

+2 for Elite. 145000ks on the BAGT with heaps of track work and drag strip runs, and it still runs a 12.6 qtr. Only has fully trained mechanics, no 16 yr old apprentices.
