Dont go ultra-cool (or any tube and fin style) cooler as it is an inferior design, the plate and fin is a much better product (dc one is called hydra-cool), the DC plate and fin is actually made by PWR with just the sticker stuck over the top.
The V8 one can be had for 140ish at supercheap auto, be advised you will need some fittings made up, just go to a radiator place and talk to them about it, i got them to make a barb fitting by taking the original female part off an old AU oil cooler and welding together, cost $30 and 15 mins to make. http://www.daviescraig.com.au/Oil_Co...8-details.aspx |

running the cooler inline with the factory cooler is the way to go, the fluid stays out of the transmission for longer giving it more time to cool

PWR cooler V8 sized. I cut both steel lines so they run under the radiator, Flared the pipes and pushed on the rubber hose. No problems since the pipes were flared.

I've got a Heavy Duty PWR in mine & have no problems.... I bypassed the radiator & it stays real cool!!! Not worth doing an auto because of a dodgy radiator!!!! Lots of them let go all the time.....

This is the cooler I put on my series 2 ghia, bypassing the radiator totally.
PWO 5389FD http://www.pwr.com.au/#/view=products/s=os/ Cost me $170 (july 09) delivered direct from pwr themselves. No cutting of factory transmission oil lines needed. Cheers |
