Default Ford Calipers

Hey im just trying to find out if the rear calipers from a Series 1 are different to series two. Both cars are live axle.

as far as i know there the same as auII/III and ba bf use diffrent size rear rotors i think

only the fronts on series 1 and 2 are diffrent, so they should be a clean swap over.. as clean as brake dust and brake fluid gets lol

They're different - AU2 have slightly larger callipers and discs. Bendix part numbers for rear brakes are:
AU1 - DB1086 (same as EF/EL)
AU2 - DB1376 (same as BA, BF, FG)

I just had a look on Carsales and alas couldn't find one. Perhaps I should do that V8 conversion Ragtop keeps mentioning and then sell it to you.

Shame my wagon's not a Fairmont though! LOL!

They are out there, but you have to be quick to catch them - even the odd wild child turns up on ocassionV8 Fairmont Wagon 347 stroker

AU1 and AU2/3 live axe cars both use an identical single piston PBR 'Collete' sliding caliper. The rear brake rotor diameters for all AUs are 287 mm (same as the front rotor diameter) with the Series 2/3 models using a slightly thicker solid rotor - difference of about 5-6mm over the Series 1/EF/EL spec - and hence the different B Series type pad as JC has pointed out.

Atmo I6 BA-FG cars use the same caliper and similar pad specifiction with a larger diameter rotor (303mm).
